Hatley Family Easter 2022

We, the Hatleys, are a family formed by God.  We are a true creation of His.  We are a true blended family.  Through the foster care system we adopted 4 children and have 3 biological.

Our story begins in 2001 when a year of changes brought my husband Jim and I together. In 2002, we decided to become host home providers to take care of disabled adults. We continued that for 7 years then transitioned into the foster care system to care for children needing families for the next 12 years. We adopted 2 sibling groups and made a transition out of being foster parents in 2017. Even though our family was now complete, our hearts still felt a tug to help other families like ours. God was calling us to start a non-profit that helps other adoptive families. This is where Rooted Hearts was born. Rooted Hearts is here to support adoptive families because there is little support for them after they leave the system, but of course we love to help foster/kinship families as well.

Hello! My name is Jill Hatley. I am from a small farm town in Ohio. As a little girl, I always prayed to be a Mom. That was my biggest dream, but when I was 21 I was told I could never conceive a child of my own. Through continual prayer and in Gods own timing I became a mother of 7. I had worked in a variety of fields prior to this. The medical field, a law office, in schools, host home providing, but none of that truly satisfied me. Then God led me to be a foster parent. Through this journey, we adopted 4 children and had 3 of our own. This set in motion the idea for Rooted Hearts!

Hi, I’m Aimee Hatley! I was born in Guam but raised in Colorado for practically my whole life. I grew up around the host home and foster system since I was very young, I am also the oldest with 6 siblings, so helping people has always been a big part of my life. This is what led me into going to school for Social Work and Victim Advocacy.

Our Approach

We Facilitate Matching Families in Need with Volunteers who can Help

Our objective is to help adoptive, kinship, and foster families in need find and receive support through local volunteers that can help fulfill that need.

We also want to be a place where people with the ability to help can offer their services and be connected to families in need.

Our Mission

Support, connect, and educate adoptive families as we launch young adults into social service careers.

Our Vision

Acknowledge their past, see them in their present, and love them into their future as we become rooted together through Jesus Christ.
